After a slow start on Tuesday night, the Gordon Central Lady Warriors got back on track and rallied for a 55-51 victory at Gordon Lee.

Gordon Central (3-0) trailed 17-5 after one quarter, but outscored the host Lady Trojans 33-19 over the next two quarters to go ahead 39-36 going to the fourth. They then outscored Gordon Lee 17-15 in the final period to hold on for the win.

Mercedes Coleman continued her strong start to her freshman season with 24 points to lead Gordon Centra. Olivia Fleming added nine, and Lelia Culberson contribued eight.

The Lady Warriors will try to remain unbeaten in the early season when they visit Coahulla Creek on Saturday at 3 p.m. They open Region 7-AA play on Tuesday at Armuchee at 6 p.m.
