Calhoun girls 70, Bremen 69
The Lady Jackets built a lead at halftime and held on for a nail-biting one point win on the road in subregion action.
Calhoun (8-7, 2-0 subregion) led 16-12 after the first quarter and 30-23 at the half before Bremen rallied in the final two quarters to make the game tight down the stretch where the Lady Jackets made enough plays to hold on.
Anna George led five Calhoun scorers in double figures with 16 points. Erin Davis had 14, and Lyndi Rae Davis and Railey Greeson each scored 12. Ashlyn Brzozoski added 10.
Calhoun is on the road one again on Tuesday to visit rival Sonoraville at 6 p.m.
Bremen boys 55, Calhoun 54
Calhoun saw the momentum swing in their favor and against them throughout the night on Friday multiple times, but host Bremen had the final push as they held on for a one-point subregion win.
The Jackets (3-11, 0-2 subregion) trailed by one at the half 21-20 but went into the fourth tied at 36-36.
Davis Allen was Calhoun’s leading scorer on the night with 16 points. Chase Goble added 15, including three 3s, and Porter Law scored seven.
The Jackets visit Coahulla Creek on Monday night at 6 p.m. and Sonoraville on Tuesday night at 7:30 p.m.
