Gordon Central girls 65, Gordon Lee 57

For the second straight game, freshman Mercedes Coleman had a big night in the scoring column to lead the Lady Warriors to a non-region home victory.

Coleman tallied 37 points, including three 3-pointers, to lead the charge for Gordon Central (2-0).

She scored 22 in the first half to help her team build a 35-24 lead at the break and then added 13 in the third quarter as teh Lady Warriors stayed comfortably ahead 54-43 going into the fourth.

Olivia Fleming was the next leading scorer for Gordon Central with nine points, and Cheyenne Temple added eight.

The Lady Warriors will get a little rest over the Thanksgiving Break after their 2-0 start, but they will be back on the court on Tuesday, Nov. 28 when they visit Gordon Lee for a non-region contest at 6 p.m.
