Calhoun High senior Zeke Nance (seated, second from right) signed a football scholarship with Lenoir-Rhyne University (Hickory, N.C.) on Wednesday.
Nance said of the signing: “It just means the world to me. It’s been my dream since I was a little boy to play college football. It’s an honor to get the chance to keep playing on the next level. The coaching staff (at Lenoir-Rhyne) is great, and it was impressive to me how supportive they are. The campus is beautiful, and it’s just a great place with a lot of alumni support. I’m a little nervous getting ready to finish high school and start college, but I’m willing to do what it takes and work hard to do my best there. I’m excited to get started.”
Also attending the signing were: (front row, left) brother Isaac Nance, mother Kerry Nance, father Mike Nance, (back row, from left) Calhoun High head coach and athletic director Hal Lamb, assistant coach Franco Perkins, assistant coach George Hoblitzell and assistant coach Tommie Hoblitzell.
