Calhoun High senior CJ Fuller (seated, right) signed a football scholarship with Union College (Barbourville, Ky.) on Wednesday.
Fuller said of the signing: “This means a lot. I’m going to be one of the first people in my family to go to college, and I’m going to work hard there with both school and football. It’s very exciting to get to play football on the college level. I’m ready to see how I stack up, and I’m ready to work. Everyone at Union seems like a family, and the coaches and team are the same. It really makes you want to play as hard as you can for them. I’m nervous, but when I get there I’ll be ready. I’m looking forward to college, but right now I’m going to keep working and staying in shape and finish high school strong.”
Also attending the signing were: (front row, left) brother Rashad Fuller, (back row, from left), Calhoun High head coach and athletic director Hal Lamb, assistant coach Franco Perkins, assistant coach Tommie Hoblitzell and assistant coach George Hoblitzell.
