Sheriff’s Office releases additional details into the Nov. 21 domestic shooting in Sonoraville community

A domestic dispute resulted in a shooting off of Bud Hardy Road in the Sonoraville community on Tuesday, Nov. 21. The road runs beside the Citgo Gas Station in Sonoarville.

Sheriff Mitch Ralston released additional details earlier this week on a domestic disturbance on Tuesday, Nov. 21 that resulted in a man being life flighted due to multiple gun shot wounds.

Shortly after 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 21, deputies responded to a residence on Bud Hardy Road in the Sonoraville community in response to a shooting. According to Ralston, deputies were on the scene within minutes and quickly apprehended a female suspect in the shooting.

Deputies found a male who had suffered multiple gunshot wounds; he was immediately removed by ground ambulance and then flown to Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga for treatment.

Detectives have spent the last couple of weeks conducting a thorough investigation into the incident, interviewing multiple witnesses and collecting evidence, including the weapon used during the dispute.

Ralston said that the investigation has revealed that the “primary aggressor” during the domestic incident was William F. Crocker, 62, of 207 Bud Hardy Road. Ralston said he had been hospitalized for several days after the incident, and that on Friday, Dec. 1, he was arrested and charged with aggravated assault/Family Violence Act. Crocker was released on bond shortly after.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the case has been forwarded to the District Attorney’s office for prosecution.
