Rotary Golf Tournament to be held Oct. 4

For those seeking an exhilarating day on the links coupled with an opportunity to give to a worthy cause, the Calhoun Rotary Club is holding the Calhoun Rotary Golf Tournament at Fields Ferry Golf Course on Wednesday, Oct. 4.

Registration for the event includes 18 holes of golf and lunch for each player. To enter, it costs $400 to register a team, and $100 to register as an individual. Hole sponsorships are available.

Prizes and competitions include claiming first or second place, two flights, par 3, closest to pin and longest drive.

A $1000 One Shot Giveaway will also take place at the event, and it is included in the entry fee. Each player that enters the tournament will have a chance to earn $1000. As each group passes the putting green during each round, players will have the chance to sink a 10 foot putt. Each player that makes the putt qualifies to take aim from the 100-yard marker on the 18th hole once all teams have completed a round. The player that gets closest to the hole gets $1000.

Registration time for the event begins at 11 a.m., with a box lunch served shortly after.

Proceeds from the event will be utilized in support of the Calhoun Rotary’s efforts in helping the youth of Calhoun and Gordon County.

Entry forms are available at the Fields Ferry Golf Course. Those interested can also send an email to or give Jim Rosencrance a call at 706-263-6631.
