Ribbon Cutting ceremony held to officially open new Family Resource Center facility

A Ribbon Cutting ceremony and open house was held Tuesday afternoon at the Family Resource Center of Gordon County’s new facility, located at 320 North River Street, beside the Gordon County Health Department. The event was sponsored by United Way of Gordon County’s Young Leaders Society.

Those in attendance enjoyed tours of the new facility, along with refreshments.

The Family Resource Center of Gordon County works to strengthen families for the betterment and well-being of children. The Family Resource Center is an affiliate agency of Prevent Child Abuse Georgia, chartered in 1986 and is a United Way Agency.

The Family Resource Center of Gordon County offers several programs, including: The First Steps Program at Gordon Hospital; Parents as Teachers Program; Step Up! program for fathers; Active Parents course; 1,2,3,4 Parents Course; Family Ties monthly group; Child Advocacy Center; Circle of Hope; and Stewards of Children.
