According to Gordon County Sheriff Mitch Ralston, at about 8:40 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 19, deputy sheriffs were dispatched to a private residence on Webber Road near Plainville in response to a 911 report of a domestic disturbance.
Upon arrival, a man armed with a rifle and pistol met the deputies. The man, subsequently identified as Kenneth William Gibson, age 34, of 719 Webber Road, submitted to the deputies and was arrested and charged with aggravated assault/family violence, terroristic threats/acts, possession of a firearm in a crime, cruelty to children (third degree) and other offenses.
The investigation by deputies and detectives revealed allegations and physical evidence that Gibson assaulted and threatened family members prior to the arrival of the officers.
Gibson remains in jail pending bond proceedings.
