Opal Elizabeth Rickett Holcomb, age 80 of Calhoun, passed away on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at her residence.
Opal was born on April 28, 1936 in Gordon County to the late Dallas “DC” Claude Rickett and Finnie Lenora Cooper Rickett. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Julian Alton Holcomb. Opal was an active member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, where she served as the church pianist. She was also a member of the Sonoraville Chapter of the Eastern Star.
Opal is survived by her two sons, Kim Holcomb and his wife LaDonna of Calhoun and Dallas Holcomb and his wife Kim of Calhoun; six grandchildren, Wes and his wife Betsy Holcomb, Ethan Holcomb, Jessica Holcomb and her fiancé Zach Walden, Kayla Holcomb, Meagan Grant and Lauren Holcomb; one great-grandson, Liam Dufour; and sister, Ruth Rickett Juliano. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Saturday, April 29 at 3 p.m. at Bethlehem Baptist Church with Reverend Jason Parker and Reverend Ronnie Wells officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Reverend James Justice in charge of graveside rites. Pallbearers serving will be Billy Kay, Scott Burnette, Randy Myers, Allen Walker, David West, JB Rickett, Billy Erwin and Greg Clance.

Mr. Trevor James Fite, 49 of Douglasville, Ga. died Tuesday, April 25, 2017, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Floyd County on June 29, 1967, son of Jerry Fite, and the late Melvelene Brannon Bell. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death a son, Andy Mayes.
Trevor worked for Applied Software for more than eight years. He loved his job and his coworkers.
Survivors include his wife of 24 years, Donna Smith Fite; his sons, Mark Mayes and John Mayes; his daughter and son-in-law, Christina and David Blair; a sister, Tracy Pruitt; and grandchildren, Garrett Blair, Pierson Blair, Archer Blair, Savannah Mayes, and Luke Mayes. Other survivors include aunts and uncles, Teresa Stone, Jackie Brannon, Linda Brannon, and Randy Brannon; many cousins, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Mr. Trevor James Fite will be held Saturday, April 29 at 2 p.m. from Pleasant Grove Baptist Church (Ryo), with Brant Nelson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Family and friends will meet at the church on Saturday, at 1:30 p.m.

Sandra Lee Johnson, age 74, of Calhoun, passed away peacefully April 24, 2017 at the Cancer Treatment Center of America in Newnan, Ga.
Sandra graduated from Milton High School in 1961 and went on to have a successful career as an administrative assistant. She was a member of Professional Secretaries International and the Calhoun Elks Club Elkettes.
Sandra was preceded in death by her husband, Oran Johnson; brothers, Troy Foster and Larry Foster; mother, Mary Lou Foster; father, Allen Foster; brother in law, Barry Ingle.
She is survived by her daughters, Trina Williams and Stacia Cranfill; sons in law, Jeff Williams and Barry Cranfill; grandchildren, Kersten Williams, Jacob Williams, Ashley Cranfill, and Cooper Cranfill; other family members, Brenda Foster, Debbie Ingle, Terry & Anne Foster, Ronnie and Diane Foster, Vern Foster, and Judy Foster; a host of cousins, nieces and nephews and a multitude of special friends and family by choice.
Visitation was held on Thursday, April 27 between the hours of 5 and 8 p.m. and will be held again on Friday, April 28t between the hours of 5 and 8 p.m. at Northside Chapel Funeral Directors in Roswell, Ga. Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Northside Chapel Funeral Directors on Saturday, April 29 at 11 a.m., with graveside services at Chandler Cemetery in Calhoun, Ga. at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
