Mr. Trammell Edward Roach, 81 of Calhoun, passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2014, following several months of declining health. He was born in Gordon County on November 17, 1932, son of the late Paul and Mabel Lipscomb Roach. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Louise McClung Roach in 2003; and a son, Rex Roach in 2004.

Mr. Harold Dean White, 80, of Calhoun, departed this life Thursday evening, June 19, 2014, at his home surrounded by his family. Harold was born January 18, 1934 in Chattooga County, Georgia, a son of the late Joseph Wesley and Annie Lee Byers White. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Bethelean Meadows White and sisters, Martha Edwards and Patty Harris Stoker. Harold was a truck driver for over forty plus years and retired from the Whitfield County School System where he drove a school bus. He was a member of the Valley Brook Church of God. Harold loved to fish and loved flee markets.
Mrs. Bertha Curtis Dempsey, 90, of the Plainview community, Calhoun, passed away Sunday, June 22, 2014. She was born in Whitfield County on January 10, 1924, daughter of the late Wheeler and Lizzie Belle Green Curtis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Dempsey in 2009, to whom she married on Valentine’s Day, 1942; a brother, Vernon Curtis; and step-mother, Ruby Smith Curtis.
Mr. Larry Junior Owens, 71, of Calhoun, passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2014, at his residence. He was born August 29, 1942 in Gordon County, son of the late Jimmy Llyod (J.L.) and Belle Anderson Owens. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Myra Evans Owens, his daughter, Leigh Owens and brothers, Tommy Owens, Harry Owens and David Owens.
Miss Amanda Nichole Posey, 22, of Dalton, departed this life Wednesday morning, June 18, 2014 at the Gordon Hospital in Calhoun, after a courageous 3-year battle with pancreatic cancer. Amanda was born June 4, 1992 in Calhoun. She was a 2010 graduate of Southeast High School where she was an honor student and was very active in sports, having played basketball, track and tennis. She was employed at Burger King (Northgate Drive off the By-pass) had worked there since she was fifteen and was a full time student at Dalton State College. She was a member of Emmaus Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Charles E. Posey and Dorothy L. Posey and Charles E. Henery.
Amy Marlene Holloway Lott, 44, of Calhoun, departed this life Thursday evening, June 19, 2014, at Her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 4, 1970, daughter to Hubert Holloway and Glenda Rogers Croy. She was also preceded in death by her brother Johnny Holliday and a sister Rita Holliday.
Donna Holmes Falls, 53, of Athens — formerly of Calhoun — passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2014, at Athens Regional Medical Center. She was born in Gordon County on December 19, 1960, daughter of the late Eugene and Mary Frances Fuller Holmes.

D.F. “Preacher” Williams, 84, of Calhoun, died Friday evening in Redmond Regional Medical Center with his wife, Betty, of 66-years, at his side.
