On Thursday, February 27, Chip Henderson, head baseball coach at Calhoun High School, along with three assistant coaches Josh Wiggins, Donnie Robertson and David Hall came to meet with the Rotary Club.

Senior players, Logan Walraven, Jon Register and Westin McArthur, accompanied the coaching staff. The CHS baseball program has a very successful record and seven alumni of the program have gone on to play professional baseball, since Chip Hendesron was the head coach.

Charles Culberson is the latest product of CHS to make it to the Major Leagues. He was drafted by the San Francisco Giants and now plays for the Colorado Rockies.

Henderson believes in academic achievement as well as athletic, and as with other CHS Sports, there is a “No Pass, No Play” policy. The CHS ball field is among the best in the state and is rated as number two.

The CHS Baseball team will play Armuchee High at the Rome Braves Stadium on March 21, 2014. Admission is $5. Please come out and support the CHS team.

The Calhoun Rotary is pleased to host speakers on a wide range of interest to our community. If you are interested in joining the Rotary, ask any Rotarian, or call Dianne Kirby, Membership Development Chair at 770-548-5757.
