Local assisted living and Alzheimer’s memory care community recognizes deep connections between staff, residents during national observance
CALHOUN, GA. – A weeklong celebration kicked off Sunday, Sept. 10, and Morning Pointe of Calhoun has joined tens of thousands of assisted living communities across the country for the festivities. It’s National Assisted Living Week® through Saturday, Sept. 16, and Morning Pointe is honoring this year’s theme, “Family is Forever.”
The “Family is Forever” theme for National Assisted Living Week was inspired by a quote from the famed poet Maya Angelou: “Family isn’t always blood, it’s the people in your life who want you in theirs: the ones who accept you for who you are, the ones who would do anything to see you smile and who love you no matter what.”
Morning Pointe residents, associates, relatives and local partners embrace family every day of the year, but especially during this weeklong observance as part of the life enrichment and Meaningful Day™ programs.
“Family is at the heart of what makes Morning Pointe a warm and compassionate environment for seniors,” says Greg Vital, president and CEO of Morning Pointe. “From monthly family night events, to our informative support groups, this National Assisted Living Week is a time to honor and recognize our family members and loved ones who are at the very center of the care we provide to our residents.”
