Local Scout troop holds Court of Honor ceremony at recent meeting

Boy Scout Troop 22 held their quarterly Court of Honor last Tuesday at Calhoun First United Methodist Church. The Scouts and their families made the event even more special by holding a second annual Red Cross blood drive that afternoon in honor of Brayden Webb,; a former Cub Scout who is now a cancer survivor.

During the Court of Honor, the Scouts received Merit Badges such as Bird Study, First Aid and Public Speaking, as well as numerous others.

Scouts choose Merit Badges either through general interest or to complete requirements for rank advancements.

After the formal segment of the evening, the Scouts participated in a gift exchange orchestrated by a round-robin game of left/right instructions which always ends the evening on a note of laughter. Troop 22 is sponsored by Calhoun First United Methodist Church.
