Local Rotarians attend musical at Calhoun High

On Thursday, Nov 2, 2017, Rotarian Michele Taylor, program chair and Calhoun City Schools superintendent, arranged for the local Rotary club to attend a performance of Calhoun High’s musical “Catch Me If You Can.”

The show was held in the newly renovated Performing Arts Center and club members were given the history of the center and the story of the renovation by retired educator and Rotarian Jim Lay. Taylor mentioned several citations and awards given to the Performing Arts of CHS throughout the past school years and recently.

The musical is based on the story and movie of the same name about Frank Abagnale, Jr. who stayed one step ahead of the FBI for years, assuming the identities of an airline pilot, a prosecutor and a medical doctor, before being apprehended.

Special recognition is given to Rotarian parents of cast members: Michele Taylor, Giles Jones and Russell Dudley.

Music was provided Music Director Darlene Wright.
