International students visit Calhoun Rotary

In 1946, an innovative program was conceived by a Georgia Rotarian in an attempt to foster good .will after World War II. Scholarships are offered worldwide to eligible International students, who, after stiff competition, are chosen to live and attend college in Georgia for one year.

Since its inception, the Georgia Rotary Student Program has sponsored 3,500 students from around the world.

This year’s scholars are attending Dalton State College and visited us on Thursday, Sept 7, 2017, accompanied by Dr. John Richmond of Dalton, who is a GRSP Trustee.

Linnea Neman, from Sweden, is sponsored by the Dalton Rotary Club. Clare Ballatyne was recommended by her hometown Rotary Club in Louth, Lincolnshire, England, and she is co-sponsored by Dalton and Calhoun Rotary Clubs. Ballatyne presented a slide show featuring her hometown.
