Nonsensical zaniness abounds when five surviving sisters of the Sisters of Hoboken in New Jersey come up with an idea to raise funds to complete the burial  of the last sisters who died from eating tainted soup at the convent. Tickets: $15 General Admission, $12 Seniors/Students, $10 HAC Members

Who’s Packing Your Chute?

6:30 p.m. at Calhoun Recreation Football Field

The band will play at 6:30 p.m., followed by Skydiver Christian Stevens, then Brenda J. Robinson will speak on “Your Mind Is A Battlefield.”  Wear your camo and bring a lawn chair.  Free admission.

Every Saturday and Wednesday.  Anyone in the WJTH listening area is welcome to sell their surplus fruits and vegetables (there is no charge).  All items must be locally grown and sold by a family member.

Captains must check-in at 8 a.m., play begins at 9 a.m.

Play dirty for a great cause!  The event is hosted by the Gordon Optimist Club and proceeds provide scholarships to local students.

10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Gordon County Parks & Recreation Center (Sonoraville Complex)

The Georgia Department of Labor will help Toyo Tires recruit a number of workers for its manufacturing facility in Bartow County. The company, which produces tires for vehicles, is recruiting manufacturing and maintenance technicians.

11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Calhoun’s GEM Theatre

Save Homeless Veterans Golf Classic

10 a.m. at Barnsley Gardens Resort

Golfers will play an 18-hole Fort Lauderdale Scramble tournament, enjoy lunch and buffet dinner and awards following play.  Each golfer will receive a gift bag and have the opportunity to participate in course contests.  A hole in one on the designated par 3’s will win a lucky golfer a new car!  The tournament host is former Atlanta Braves pitcher John Rocker. The team entry fee is $800.
