Calhoun’s Palazzolo-Taylor win People’s Choice Award

Gordon Central High School’s Lizzy Dutch and Ryan Morrell took the Judges’ Award at Saturday Night’s Dancing with the Stars Gets Schooled.

The Judges’ Award recognizes the couple with the highest overall dance score. Second place in the category went to the CHS team of Sarah Green and Zeke Nance, with Sonoraville’s Natalie Mathis and Garrison Baumgardner taking third place.

Calhoun High School’s Julia Palazzolo and Joseph Taylor were winners of the People’s Choice Award, which recognizes the couple who helped raise the most money for the fundraiser through sponsorships, donations and pledges.

This year’s Dancing with the Stars Gets Schooled, the first year the fundraiser utilized local students, raised more than $100,000.

Second place honors for People’s Choice were CHS team Sarah Green and Zeke Nance, with third place going to Katherine Stockman and Matt Adcock.

The Spirit Award was voted on by all of the dancers and went to Calhoun’s Sarah Green and Sonoraville’s Garrison Baumgardner.

Congratulations to all of these hard working, talented and dedicated students!

Audition information for next year’s event will be announced in the fall.
