Georgia State Patrol says five people were injured and transported to various hospitals Tuesday morning after a wreck on I-75 north near Exit 310 in Gordon County.
The wreck occurred around 10:30 a.m. at the Union Grove Road Exit. According to GSP, a 2017 Nissan Pathfinder, driver by Jason Humphries, age 38, of Leigh Acres, Fla. was traveling north in the middle lane of the interstate, when it was struck from behind by a 2007 Toyota Avalon, driven by Michael Dixon, age 27, of Baltimore, Md. The Nissan traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck two trees with its front and driver’s side.
Humphries was transported by LifeForce to Erlanger Medical Center in Chatatnooga, Tenn. Three unidentified passengers in his vehicle were transported by ground ambulance to Hamilton Medical Center in Dalton. According to the GSP, none of the injuries are believed to be life-threatening.
Dixon was transported by ground to Gordon Hospital with minor injuries; there were no passengers in his vehicle. He was cited for following too close.
