At the Tuesday night meeting of the Gordon County Board of Commissioners, the Board said goodbye to longtime chaplain Dr. John Allen, who is retiring after many years of volunteering his services to the County at the bi-monthly meetings.
“We appreciate everything Dr. Allen has done for our County and for his service during our meetings,” said Board Chair Becky Hood.
County Administrator Jim Ledbetter gave an updated report to the Board:
SPLOST and LOST revenue collections for January were $665,066.93 and $461,2243.54 respectively, both up 9.87 percent over this time last year.
Gordon County has received the 85 percent complete design plans for the Gordon County Courthouse renovations and are being reviewed by various stakeholders.
Site preparation is underway for the new Gordon County Animal Shelter.
The Gordon County Health Department SPLOST project funds will be fully collected in May; the County is now in the preliminary planning phase of this project.
The next meeting of the Gordon County Board of Commissioners will be at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, March 6 at the Administration building in downtown Calhoun.
