Calhoun man arrested in Adairsville on

Joseph Frank Williamson

A Calhoun man remained in jail Monday after his arrest by the Adairsville Police Department on 75 counts of child pornography and one count each of enticing a child for indecent purposes, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and interference with custody.

According to the Adairsville Police Department:

Police noticed a suspicious vehicle parked in the Barnsley Village subdivision Friday evening. Joseph Frank Williamson, 30, was sitting in the driver’s seat of the vehicle and 15-year-old female was sitting in the passenger seat. The juvenile told the officer she was 18 and said she didn’t have her identification. She then recanted and said she was 15.

The officer contacted the mother of the juvenile who was at work. Her mother confirmed that the juvenile was not allowed to be with Williamson and said she had told Williamson to stay away from her daughter.

Williamson was taken to the police department and police said they were told Williamson and the juvenile had been having sexual relations for over a year.

A search of Williamson’s phone revealed explicit photographs and text messages between Williamson and the juvenile. During questioning Williamson stated the sexual activities took place at his residence located in Calhoun.

Williamson was then placed under arrest and transported to the Bartow County Jail. He is being held there without bond.
