Art, Music and Theater Summer Camps at the Harris Arts Center

Summer at the Harris Arts Center is all about children’s camps. Splash & Squish Art Camp is scheduled for June 5 through 9, Music Mania 2017 will be held June 19 through 23, and a two-week mini summer-stock theater experience, Annie Jr., will run July 10 through 22. All camps are generously sponsored by Shaw Industries.

“Splash & Squish” Art Camp with Sherry Warren offers a Morning Session from 9 to 11:30 a.m. for ages 10 to 13 and an Afternoon Session from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. for Ages 7 to 9.

A relaxed, fun yet structured atmosphere nurtures creativity. Students will explore art fundamentals by experiencing drawing, painting, mixed media and clay techniques. Each camper leaves with 3 to 4 finished pieces. On Friday afternoon the arts center hosts a reception for parents and friends to celebrate the children’s artistic talent.

While rehearsing for Annie Jr., campers will learn the fundamentals of musical theater – acting, voice and dance.
