Annual Calhoun Christmas Parade of Lights set for Thursday, Dec. 8, begins at 7 p.m.

The annual Calhoun Christmas Parade of Lights, a popular event each year in the downtown area, will be held tomorrow night, Thursday, Dec. 8 beginning at 7 p.m.

The annual parade features many different floats and groups with a different theme each year, but always concludes with Santa.

This year’s theme is “A Calhoun Toyland Christmas.”

More than 60 schools, businesses and organizations are expected to participate this year. Local choruses will begin caroling around the downtown area from BB&T City Park to City Hall at 6:30 p.m.

The parade is sponsored by the Gordon County Chamber/Convention & Visitors Bureau, Calhoun Downtown Development Authority and Northwest Georgia Fair. Fore more information, call 706-625-3200.
